The vizsla is well-known in Spain by hunters because of his gun-dog qualities, but for common people is a totally unknown breed.

During the last twenty years some breed fans have bred with quite success as Joan Armengol, Jesús Ibarra or Valentín Mora (or Manuel Cavalleri in Portugal) and more recently, from the last 90´s, José Antonio Ballesteros, Muela de Cortes kennel (www.lamueladecortes.com) who developed a great work promoting the breed.
